With the imminent release of her ‘Bad Gyal’ album in Europe and the United States, Ce’Cile has been busy with promoting the album. ‘Bad Gyal’ is expected to attract a double release this summer. The European release will be distributed under the Danger Zone/Kingstone/Groove Attack imprints and will compliment her upcoming European tour.
At the same time, the U.S. release will be under the Danger Zone/SOBE Entertainment logo and will consist of two discs, one of which will treat fans with Ce’Cile’s Reggae songs, while the other will provide her dancehall songs.
The release of the album on the American market emanates from a joint effort between the Danger Zone Music Group and SOBE Entertainment. It will include the remix of ‘Waiting’, featuring Beenie Man and Shaggy. ‘Waiting’ is her latest single which has been doing extremely well receiving plenty of airplay.
“Maybe because it’s reality...I don’t know. But all of the old man dem sing it, the women sing it, the kids like it...,” she comments. At the same time, she says “for the US market we will change up some of the tracks and call it Face Off: Bad Gyal Meets Ce’Cile or something like that...it’s not yet named...but it shows two sides of Ce’Cile.
She tells us that “people will get to understand more about Ce’Cile and how I think from this album. I have been signed to SOBE Entertainment for a year and half and this alliance has proven fruitful. SOBE is an international company and along with Danger Zone, they have enabled me to do more stuff than I could have done by myself, the affiliation with Danger Zone brings so many possibilities”.
She also explains that, “Dancehall artistes don’t have the luxury of big record companies behind us, so we have to go out there and get to know the business and see how we can make it work best for us”.
Her promotion for the album will continue with her European tour this summer beginning at the end of June. She will be performing all across the continent at concerts such as Summer Jam in Germany on July 4, Rototom Sunsplash in Udine, Italy on July 7 and at the Splash Festival in Leipzig, Germany on July 12. She will also travel to Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, and France.
