The team needed 12 points from this match to gain the coveted title and this they were able to do as the Windward Islands did not give them much of a challenge. At the end of the match the Windward Islands were at 248 runs in 88.1 overs, the Jamaican team however managed to make 232 in the first innings and this made defeating the even easier.

The Windward Islands lost 8 wickets for 59 in 125 minutes off 31.1 overs which made them slip into the sixth lowest total in the history of the competition. The Windward Islands’ Andre Fletcher put up a fight as he managed to score 103 not out. But this effort was not enough to help the Windward Islands’ team as the Jamaicans were not holding back.
Nikita Miller was shining like a star as he got Rawl Lewis’ leg before wicket and combined with Jerome Taylor to out Lyndon James, Deighton Butler and Pascal all for duck.
Chris Gayle bowled Shane Shillingford and had Pascal caught for two to finish the innings a few minutes before close of play. At the end of the match Miller ended with three for 60 off 25 overs and a match haul of seven for 77 gaining the man of the match crown. His other teammates Gayle and Bernard shared six wickets.
