Jamaica’s Under 15 cricketers have secured a place in history after completing the CLICO cricket tournament with an unbeaten record.  The young cricketers were sure of the title even before entering the fifth round encounter.

The Jamaican team met the Windward Islands in the finals of the tournament and proved to be too much for the Windward Islands who failed to beat the 148 mark set by the Jamaicans.

The Jamaican team had 10 points to end the tournament, behind them was Barbados with 8 points and third were the Windward Islands with 5 points.

The young Jamaican cricketers were sent in to bat first and they never failed to deliver as they reached 148 all out in 41.4 overs with Chrishna Graham leading the team with 56 runs complemented by Nevar Christie who gave the team 18 run.

The Captain of the Jamaican team, Donovan Nelson showed that he was an impressive all rounder as he copped many of the prestigious awards of the event. He won awards for the most wickets, best bowling average and best fielder of the tournament.

Nelson finished with four for 16 with Delbert Gayle’s 3 for 11 and Raymond Seniors two for 27. Nelson had 16 wickets for the entire competition with an average of 6.00 which was instrumental in his team’s victory.

In a bid for the trophy the Jamaican team successfully defeated Guyana with John Campbell leading the field with an unbeaten 59 runs. Barbados which was second in the tournament defeated Trinidad and Tobago by 31 runs. They got a score of 167 all out in 48.1 overs while the Trinidad and Tobago was all out for 136 in 42.5 overs.
