Reggae singers Sanchez and Barrington Levy are booked to appear on a three-venue concert tour of the United Kingdom.
The Jamaican crooners are scheduled to perform in the British cities of Birmingham, Bradford and culminating in the English capital-London from September 28-30.
Speaking exclusively with http://www.jamaica.fm, Sanchez noted that although his last tour of the UK in February of this year concluded on a sour note (the Singer was hospitalized and diagnosed with acute food poisoning) he is not daunted by the task ahead for this concert tour.
“The UK has always been a great market for reggae music and I really have a strong fan base over there so I just have to put what happened the last time behind me and just go out a please the fans, that’s what they pay for and expect. And Sanchez will certainly deliver in fine style.”
And what of the collaboration with Barrington Levy? “Barrington Levy is always a great artiste to work alongside. He is a great singer and an even better stage performer with a strong selection of songs, always a great man to work with.” Sanchez noted
This is not the first time that the two Jamaicans are sharing top billing, Sanchez notes that He and Barrington have done shows together in the past on either sides of the Atlantic- The UK and North America as well as in the Caribbean.
Sanchez burst on the scene in the late 1980s with a string of hits and has been a staple on the reggae scene since then. Among his top hits “Brown Eye Girl”, “Here I Am”, “Neva Dis The Man”, “Praise Him” and the eternal gospel favourite - “Amazing Grace”.
Barrington Levy is no stranger to the UK- many believe that’s where his fan base is strongest. His string of hits include: “Under Mi Sensi”, “Too Experienced”, “She’s Mine”, “Broader Than Broadway” and “Murderer.”
