Homophobic lyrics make the news again

Buju Banton and Sizzla have apparently been banned from performing in Brighton because of the homophobic nature of their lyrics, some of them at any rate.  These guys have to wise up to the fact that it is against the law in the UK to incite hatred of gay and lesbian people.  Janice Turner, a columnist for the Times, a prestigious UK newspaper, has written an interesting piece on this in yesterday’s edition:

She makes the point that it is time the Jamaican government leads its people to a better place on this human rights issue.  I fear she is quite right.

Yeah...it’s a myopic, short-sighted approach that baffles the hell out of me. Buju has been down this road many times...I can only hope it’s not too late…
