Love him or hate him...in the fast-paced world of entertainment, this DJ has been one of the most durable artiste out of Jamaica…

Moses Davis was born in the Waterhouse district of Kingston, Jamaica on August 22, 1973. At the age of eight, Mr. Davis first debut single was, “Too Fancy” produced by Junjo Lawes. By the age of ten Mr. Davis held the title of, “The Ten Year Old DJ Wonder”. In 1992 at the Reggae Sunsplash, Beenie preformed and theaudience roared favorably. Unfortunately a dispute erupted between Beenie Man and the acclaimed Bounty Killer and the very public battle began.

Beenie left Kingston and after his return a year later, the two large musical personalities reconciled and out of that drama came, the ever popular split album Guns Out.

Peace was the theme for Beenie Man and shortly after “No Mama No Cry” a rendition to the legendary Bob Marley’s, “No Woman No Cry”, brought the acclaimed DJ to another elevated level in the hearts of the Jamaican community that showed much love his way.

The peace theme lead to a Rastafarian conversion and he then recorded his hit singles “Praise Him” and “World Dance” which won the Best Single Award at the Jamaican Music Award and as well in 1994, Beenie won the DJ of the Year Award confirming his genius in the dancehall music industry and to the world.

In 1997 his collaboration with Chevelle Franklin, helped his popularity in Britain with their smashing and successful singles “Dance Hall Queen” and “Who Am I”. Beenie then returning to his roots preformed his magic and captivated at Reggae Sunsplash in 1998. Soon after Beenie Man signed with Virgin Records in the U.S. and the child marvel from Kingston has been killing the charts ever since, producing the likes of The Doctor, Y2K, The Art & Life album just to name a few.

Beenie has worked with well known American artist such as; Janet Jackson, Lil’Kim, The Neptunes and famous producers like Scott Storch and the list goes on. Mr. Moses Davis has proved time and time again his worth to the music industry and the world will be watching for the best to come.
